TEN-MAN Pickering Town earned a superb 1-1 draw with promotion-chasing Brighouse Town in the Northern Counties East League premier division.

The Pikes had goalkeeper Arran Reid sent off on 37 minutes at Mill Lane, but shrugged off that setback to take a 79th-minute lead through Ged Dalton.

That lasted only two minutes as Tom Matthews levelled for Brighouse, who had Leon Henry red-carded.

Tadcaster Albion’s home game against Bridlington Town was postponed due to a flooded Ings Lane pitch.

Albion are scheduled to host Parkgate tomorrow (7.45pm), although the game appears to be in serious doubt.

Brid’s inactivity allowed leaders Scarborough Athletic to go four points clear at the top courtesy of their 7-0 home win over Hall Road Rangers.

Peter Davison scored a hat-trick and Tony Hackworth got two, while former Pickering captain Tom Adams and Ryan Blott were also on target.

Knaresborough Town moved into fourth place in division one with a 4-1 win at Eccleshill United.

Selby Town were without a game on Saturday, but they travel to Albion Sports on Wednesday (7.45pm).

Harrogate Town had ’keeper Craig MacGillivray sent off on 39 minutes as they crashed 3-0 at Altrincham in Blue Square Bet North.

Adam Novakowski donned the gloves with his side already 1-0 down and saved the penalty conceded by MacGillivray, but was unable to prevent two further goals from the hosts after the break.

Substitute Danny Forrest saw a late penalty saved for the visitors.

Harrogate Railway Athletic went down 3-2 at home to basement side Garforth Town in Evo-Stik League division one north.

Jon Maloney put the hosts in front on three minutes at Station View, but Garforth led 2-1 at half-time after goals from Max Leonard and Nathan Dwyer.

Dwyer scored again after the break and Daniel Hull netted for Railway as the visitors secured only their second win of the season.

Meanwhile, former York City striker Craig Farrell scored twice as Whitby Town won 5-2 at fourth-placed Marine in the premier division.
