BISHOP Wilton trounced visiting Huby 9-0 to go top of York Minster Engineering Football League division three.

The hosts, who replace F1 Racing at the top, coasted to their biggest win since rejoining the league eight years ago with goals from Tom Knowles (3), Michael Woods (2), Gerrard Lepine, Darren Woodhead, Jason Race and Charlie Bond.

Barmby Moor remain in contention for a promotion place after extending their unbeaten home run to five games with a 4-2 win over Selby Olympia. Andrew Saltmer and Jamie Sedman (2) were on target, to add to an own goal.

Civil Service suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 4-3 at home to Rufforth, despite taking an early lead through James Windle.

The visitors responded quickly as Graham Rae levelled before Steve Gagen and Alex Nockles put Rufforth in front.

Windle added his second of the game for the home side before the break and Chris Smith equalised in the second half, but Daniel Whitcombe hit Rufforth’s winner ten minutes from time.

Basement side Elvington moved up four places in the table following a 2-1 win over Ouseburn, thanks to goals from Alex Martin and Adam Robertson.

The top-of-the-table clash in division four went in favour of hosts York Acorn, who beat LNER Builders 4-0.

Chris Ellerker (2), Connor Larner and Leigh Dutton were the Acorn marksmen. Acorn are now unbeaten in 11 games, with their last defeat coming on the opening day of the season when they were beaten by the Builders.

Selby Town Reserves beat Moor Lane 7-0 in a bottom-of-the-table clash. Kie Latham (2), Callum Rowe-Dixon (2), Graham Stewart (2) and Olly O’Neil were the scorers.

Wheldrake and Melbourne played out the division’s first goalless draw of the season.
