BOXERS wanting training from York’s most successful ring warrior can sign up from tomorrow.

Former undefeated European, British and Commonwealth super-middleweight champion Henry Wharton opens his new gym in York Road in Acomb.

That’s when registration for would-be boxers will be available from 6pm to 8pm tomorrow and also the same time on Saturday.

Said Wharton: “The two registration sessions will enable anyone wanting to join to then start training when the gym opens for business on Monday.”

Sessions on January 7 will be at 5.30pm to 6.30pm for juniors – aged between seven and 12 – and seniors from 7pm to 8.15pm.
