A HIGH-SCORING game with Huddersfield saw York Indoor Bowls Club maintain their unbeaten start to the Yorkshire League division one season.
York secured a narrow 93-90 victory, picking up 12 points, coming back from an aggregate deficit of 84-74 with three ends to play.
The highest margin of victory came at home.
Dave Stroughair’s team led 22-11 with five ends to play. After leaking nine shots over three ends, they made amends by finishing with a four then a three to win 29-20.
Phil Emmerson’s men got off to a good start, leading 8-1 after three ends.
With three to play they were tied at 20-20, but a three then a two were enough to help them win 25-21.
Away, the rink led by Paul Humphreys did well after dropping a seven to make the score 27-13 against them with six ends to play, and they only went down 29-24.
Mark Clarke’s side also did well but dropped singles on the last two ends to lose 20-15.
