YORKSHIRE Over-55s made it two wins out of two in the Midland Counties League as they beat Leicestershire 175-138.

The White Rose side had six winning rinks to pick up 22 points out of 32.

There were successes in the home leg played at Selby IBC for Ron Green, who made the most of his 21-4 lead after 15 ends to win 22-11, and Paul Dawson, who came back from 20-13 with three ends to play to win 22-20.

Also, Dave Colebourne, who was tied at 15-15 with three to play, won 18-17, but Barry Johnson’s side were 16-13 down with six ends to play and lost 30-14.

Away, Tony Horobin’s team quickly found the pace of the green and led 22-3 after ten ends to set up a 31-13 victory.

Ralph Tiplady’s side dropped singles on the first two ends but then won 12 out of 15 ends in a 21-12 victory.

Bill Peirson’s team also made the most of a good start, which saw them score a seven on the ninth end to lead 17-3. They were 26-12 victors.

The team led by Graham Brooke, looked to have done enough to secure a victory as they led 21-10 with four ends to play but lost 23-21 after dropping a five on the last.
