Thirsk & Sowerby's Steve Middleton wins Moor Marathon

THIRSK & Sowerby Harriers runner Steve Middleton maintained his superb form by winning the Newcastle Town Moor Marathon.
Middleton clocked two hours 54 minutes and 34 seconds to head a field of 94 runners.
Club-mate John Yates finished just inside his four-hour target time in the Singapore Marathon, coming home in 3:59-08.
Meanwhile, three new Harriers members turned out for the Epilepsy Action Reindeer Stampede five-kilometre race at Robert’s Park in Saltaire. Brian Smith, in his first ever race, completed the course in 24-58, with Shaun Gascoigne clocking 26-00 and Andy Peckitt 29-25. Regular racer Ian Codling came home in 30-10.
The club hold two indoor training sessions each week in winter.
