North Yorkshire gelding Webbow, who will be 11 years old on New Year’s Day, can defy his veteran status at Kempton tomorrow.

The Julie Camacho-trained gelding, six-times a winner in his career, runs in the valuable 32 Bonus Handicap and is fancied to come out on top in the hands of George Baker.

A former high-class performer, Webbow still retains a fair bit of ability, as he showed on this course three weeks ago when he beat all except his stablemate Discentric, who gained a length and a half success to give Norton-based Camacho a notable one-two.

Webbow may not need to improve much on that performance to go one better tomorrow and chalk up his seventh win.

Kevin Ryan is giving one of his apprentices, Kevin Stott, the mount on recent Lingfield winner Roland in the 32RedPoker.com Nursery.

It was only a seller that Roland won last week, but this race is little better and with Stott’s 7lb allowance effectively cancelling out his mount’s penalty, a bold bid is anticipated.

Alfred Hutchinson could be another winner for North Yorkshire connections in the £15,800 32Red Handicap.

Trained at Brawby by Geoff Oldroyd for Pocklington owner-breeder Reg Bond, the four-year-old was a twice a winner at York during the latest turf season.

Alfred Hutchinson has had two outings on Polytrack, winning the first at Wolverhampton and failing by only a short head on the same course a fortnight ago. He should go well under Tom Eaves.

Middleham trainer Elaine Burke has good prospects of adding to the success of the northern raiding party on Kempton.

She is fancied to complete a double with nap selection Ishigunnaeatit (4.00) and Bay Laurel (6.00).

The former failed by a nose here last time and might well have prevailed had her jockey not dropped his reins in the dying strides. Silvestre de Sousa takes the mount this time, and he will also be aboard Bay Laurel.

Winner of a maiden at Wolverhampton late last month, the speedy Bay Laurel gets into this handicap with bottom weight and is selected to have the edge over Equitania, who has top weight of 9st 7lb to carry.

There is an 8am inspection today to determine racing at Hexham this afternoon.

Scottish trainer Lucinda Russell will be hoping the meeting goes ahead. She has several fancied runners, including No Deal (12.20), a Carlisle bumper winner now set to go hurdling; the high-class Tap Night (12.50), recently bought by JP McManus and set to make his chasing debut, and the consistent Imjoeking (2.20).
