A LATE try denied New Earswick All Blacks ARLC victory at Moorends Thorne Marauders in the Pennine League championship.
The York side picked up a point from an 18-18 draw after the home side touched down for an unconverted try six minutes from time.
The All Blacks took the lead on 18 minutes when stand-off Tom Holmes kicked a penalty.
Returning winger Dave Findlay then powered over for an unconverted try to make it 6-0 at the break.
A minute into the second half, scrum-half Liam Gargan raced over after good work down the middle, and Holmes converted.
Moorends hit back to take the lead with three tries and a conversion, but All Blacks responded with a try from winger Adam Smith, with Holmes goaling.
The late try ensured a draw, which sees All Blacks remain fifth in the table.
Man of the match prop Greg Neill was well backed up by second row Reece Blake and full-back Louis Pool.
Selby Warriors moved up to second in division three with a 68-8 win at Wortley Dragons, while their ‘A’ team’s game was postponed.
Sherburn Bears were 30-10 winners at home to Wetherby Bulldogs.
