KING William are the first team through to the semi-finals of the York FA Sunday Morning Senior Cup after a 5-1 win over Hemingbrough in round three.

King William had their work cut out in the first half, but still managed to take a 1-0 lead into the second half thanks to Anthony Evans’ goal. Hard-working ’Brough levelled on 57 minutes with a penalty, and that forced King William to move up a gear.

Evans put the home side back in front on 72 minutes, and strikes from Luke Hall and Danny Smith made it three goals in five minutes.

Evans completed his hat-trick on 81 minutes.

The other three ties were thwarted by the weather and were rearranged for tomorrow, with Acomb Celtic hosting Severus SC, York Nomads Society travelling to Skelton and York Medics entertaining Hounds.

All of the York FA Sunday Morning Junior Cup matches were postponed.

A trio of ties were rescheduled for tomorrow, with Huntington Rovers taking on visitors York Five Lions, York St John hosting Bishopthorpe and York RI welcoming Bubwith White Swan.

Tadcaster Magnets are due to host Drax in the final round three game on Sunday, December 23, with the tie delayed by Magnets’ County Cup involvement.

NUR moved into second spot in division four of the Ian’s Cars of Barlby York Sunday Morning League with a 13-2 thrashing of York Phoenix.

Danny Cotton scored six of the goals, while there were also strikes by Paul Fletcher, Liam Waites, Nicky Fletcher (2) and Paul Fletcher, Matty Burnett and Matty West.

Holders Station beat New Earswick 3-1 in the League Cup with goals from Craig Anderson, Josh O’Neill and Will Ramsey.
