A LORD Mayor’s Charity Bowls Challenge is being staged at New Earswick Indoor Bowls Club tonight, from 7pm.
The Lord Mayor of York, Coun Keith Hyman, and his Sheriff, Coun Paul Firth, will captain their respective teams against invited guest teams.
The guest teams are expected to include York’s two professional clubs, York City Knights and York City, nominated charities Soldiers Sailors Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA), City of York Special Olympics, a neighbourhood police team and event sponsors York Co-operative Funeralcare.
Club players will provide experience to support each of the teams.
A raffle will be held and all rink fees and money raised will be donated to the Lord Mayor’s charity appeal.
