Yorkshire begin their quest for the 2013 LV= County Championship title against Sussex at Headingley, starting on Wednesday, April 10.

The White Rose county, back in division one for their 150th year, are faced with three Championship matches and two friendlies in the opening month, including a three-day fixture with Lancashire at Headingley (April 16 to 18).

Liam Plunkett will return to Durham (April 24 to 27) for their first away trip before the Clydesdale Bank 40 starts in May with Somerset visiting Headingley on Saturday, May 11.

Yorkshire also face a 40-over match against Middlesex at Radlett just over a fortnight later. The final is at Lord’s on September 21.

Scarborough hosts Championship matches against Nottinghamshire (June 5 to 8) and Durham (August 28 to 31), while Yorkshire return to Chesterfield to face Derbyshire in the Championship for the second year running in mid-July.

The season ends against Surrey at the Oval from September 24 to 27.

“It isn’t too bad,” said director of professional cricket Martyn Moxon, whose players returned to pre-season training at Headingley yesterday. “It’s perhaps not as good a spread as it was last season, but we’ve got nothing that’s absolutely terrible.

“We’ve got three home CB40 games on odd days. There’s a Saturday afternoon, a Tuesday afternoon and a Thursday afternoon, but I think we’ve got away with it pretty well other than that.”

Twenty20 runs between June 28 and August 17. Last season’s runners-up begin their campaign against Derbyshire at Headingley.

The Roses matches against Lancashire are at Headingley on July 5 and Old Trafford on July 24.

Yorkshire go to Barbados on pre-season tour for the fourth year running on March 11.

Meanwhile, Anthony McGrath is in talks about extending his deal.
