HEWORTH ARLC’S Elmpark Way ground will host game two of the BARLA Counties Tri Series on Sunday as part of a double-header.

Yorkshire Under-19s entertain Cumbria U19s at 1pm, before their respective open age sides meet at 2.45pm.

Yorkshire’s U19s lost 48-10 to Lancashire in their opener, while the open age White Rose side also crashed 42-18 to the Red Rose – their first loss to their arch-rivals for ten years. York Acorn’s Adam Sellers played for Yorkshire that day and is included again this weekend.

Cumbria will be starting the defence of the Tri Series title they won last year, though both sides will be missing players as high-riding Yorkshire club Myton Warriors and Cumbrian aces Wath Brow Hornets meet in the National Conference League grand final on the same day.

Admission at Heworth costs £3 for adults, £1 concessions.

Meanwhile, 24 hours earlier, New Earswick All Blacks will look to end a run of three defeats when they travel to Ossett Trinity in the Pennine League championship.

Dave Smith is an injury doubt but All Blacks could welcome back Joe Stearman and the experienced Carl Barrow.

Ossett are bottom of the division and All Blacks won the reverse encounter 46-18 in September.

New Earswick ‘A’ welcome Emley Moor to White Rose Avenue in the first round of the league’s Andrew Bennett Memorial Trophy. Moor head division two and will be huge favourites against an All Blacks side in the lower reaches of division four.

Selby Warriors will expect a tougher task than last week as they go to Shaw Cross in division three. The Warriors trounced bottom club Wortley 66-10 last week but those opponents have lost all nine games so far.

Selby Warriors ‘A’ host mid-table rivals Wyke ‘A’ in division seven.

York Acorn were promoted from third place in the National Conference League first division at the end of an incredibly close race.

Egremont won their final games to not only achieve promotion but also snatch the title on points-difference from both long-time leaders Castleford Lock Lane and Acorn. Bradford Dudley Hill and Hunslet Warriors finished just one point behind.
