NEW Earswick All Blacks ARLC suffered their third straight defeat after they crashed 28-18 at home to Bank Top Harriers in the Pennine League championship.

Bradford-based Bank Top raced into a 22-0 half-time lead with four tries.

The All Blacks hit back in the second half with half-back Liam Gargan collecting a kick inside from winger Dean Smith to score, with Gargan converting.

New Earswick narrowed the gap with winger Jack Law, pictured left, intercepting and racing 80 metres to score under the sticks, with Gargan converting.

The hosts closed to within four points as Gargan crossed for his second try. Again he added the extras.

However, Bank Top sealed their win with a try in the last minute.

The All Blacks’ man of the match was full-back Louis Pool, who was backed up well by prop Alan Davidson and Gargan.

Meanwhile, All Blacks ‘A’ lost 46-12 at Farnley Falcons in division four.

All Blacks took the lead when Dean Layton crashed over for a try which he converted.

However, Farnley hit back with six converted tries to lead 36-6 at half-time.

The hosts crossed for a further converted try early in the second half and, although All Blacks’ Daryl Fogg crossed for Layton to convert, Farnley had the final say with an unconverted try.

Man of the match for All Blacks was debutant Greg Neill, while there were also good performances from Andy McSkinney and Gary Witty.

Selby Warriors were 66-10 victors at home to Wortley Dragons in division three, while Selby ‘A’ beat hosts Cowling Harlequins 28-16 in division seven.

In division six, Sherburn Bears beat Harehills 30-6.
