FORMER York men’s singles and doubles champion John Moore has been appointed head coach at York Tennis Club.
Moore, who played county tennis as a junior, is a fully licensed Lawn Tennis Association CCA (Performance) Coach and a European Registry of Tennis Professionals European and International Professional.
A club spokesman said: “John offers video analysis as part of the club’s coaching programme and this is ideal for those looking to improve their technique quickly and/or minimise injuries.
“John is qualified to teach players of all ages and abilities, including mini tennis and performance tennis, and will be running the coaching programme at the club under the heading of the FASTS Tennis Academy.”
Moore will be runnning a comprehensive junior and adult coaching programme including ‘return to tennis’ and ‘cardio tennis’ sessions.
A free winter warmer tennis afternoon for all is on Sunday, November 25 when under-10s will be catered for from 1pm to 2pm, ten to 14-year-olds from 2pm to 3pm, and 14-plus to adults from 3pm to 4pm.
