Acomb Hockey Club ladies swept to their sixth straight win in the Yorkshire League third division after beating anchor club Slazengers 3-1.
The visitors belied their lowly position in the early exchanges with several penalty corners before the Tangerines took the lead with a deft deflection from Wendy Watson.
Slazengers equalised shortly before half-time when provided with an advantage.
The second half saw Acomb the busier defence with ’keeper Sarah Milburn and defenders Jane Elsworth and Paula Ridge able to repel any forays.
Midway through the half Acomb took a grip when Jenna Allinson swept home from a penalty corner and Watson bagged a second for the hosts.
