York City and AFC Wimbledon chasing £70,000 FA Cup replay prize

MONDAY'S FA Cup replay is likely to be worth £70,000 to the winners.

York City and hosts AFC Wimbledon are already guaranteed £32,000 each due to the match being screened live by ESPN, but whoever prevails will also receive £18,000 in prize money.

Minstermen chairman Jason McGill said progress to the second round would be worth an estimated additional £20,000 as well.

“You could get that amount from the shared gate receipts from another match in the competition,” he pointed out.

So it is an extra £38,000 (potentially) less travel costs etc. Not £70k, as £32k is already 'won'.
But yes - the Cup can really inject funds, especially if we got to the 3rd Round - so lets get the City bandwagon back on the right track. :-)

Need to get the passing game going again - we haven't got the strength to play the long ball and win knock downs like the rest.

Johnson on the other wing/up front and give Chambers a rest for an hour ?

Give reedy a game surely he will be hungry to do well (if he is out of favour the TV could help him get a move to somewhere he will play football ??

I imagine Walker & Kerr will need a rest ?

Agree with that, given the money involved I would hope Jason will be suggesting a similar point to Mills!!
