Selby Town in swoop for marksman

Selby Town manager Phil Jones has hinted at a deal for a new striker from Hucknall Town in time for tomorrow’s division one trip to Nottinghamshire outfit Teversal, writes Nick Wright.

Jones was unwilling to name his potential new signing, but he is clearly confident of ending a run of one win in six for his side.

This optimism may stem from their opponents’ recent poor form of just one win in seven.

Jones said: “We’re very confident.

“We’ve played well and been in control of our games over the last couple of weeks, especially last week, which might have been a different story with 11 men on the pitch.”

Knaresborough Town, nestled comfortably in the top half of the first division, face a tougher proposition in third-placed Louth Town, whose attack is spearheaded by the division’s top scorer, Matt Kennedy.
