Major injury blow for York City forward Michael Coulson

MICHAEL COULSON'S season is over after scans revealed the York City forward has damaged his anterior cruciate ligament.

The 24-year-old was stretchered off during the Minstermen's 1-0 win at Accrington Stanley and it was quickly established that he had a medial ligament and cartilage injury that would keep him out until after Christmas.

But further scans, and a meeting with a specialist on Wednesday night, have revealed the further damage to his left leg.

It is not the first time the former Grimsby flier, who has scored five goals during this League Two season, has suffered a cruciate injury.

Bad news for City, worse news for Coulson - best wishes to the lad for as quick a recovery as possible.

Echo the above comment.Maybe Kerr can be helpful to the lad during his long layoff and chat to him.

He must be considering his career options now this has happened again.
I hope we see him in good health for the second year of his contract.

By my reckoning MC's goals have won us, or contributed towards winning us, 8 points in the league. If those 8 points give us a play-off position or, dare I say it, an automatic promotion at the end of the season - may I be the first to thank Mike for his valuable contribution to the cause!

A real shame as he was proving to be a good signing.
Danny Kearns recently extended stay is looking to be even more important. I just hope that we can keep him after the January transfer window. All being well with McCready also in the frame by then we will still look to have a decent squad of progressive midfielders who can protect the ball.

was looking like a natural finisher so its a real shame for both him and the club.

best wishes for a speedy recovery

Feel for the lad, on a plus note its good to see Kearns has now extended his loan deal until January and some very tasty picks for a possible new ground design on the Facebook page.

Bad news for both Michael Coulson and York City Football Club. Coulson was a very important signing for Gary Mills. The Manager will probably need to strengthen the squad, to maintain his options on the bench. Just hope that Michael recovers from this latest injury blow to his career.

In view of his past serious knee problems I would fear this is possibly career threatening. What a blow and lets keep our fingers crossed and hope for a full recovery.

Having had a ruptured Cruciate myself, i really sympathise with Michael . As this is the second time then it must be utterly devastating.Still not sure from this article whether the injury is to the same knee, which is a less common occurence, as a repair can make the knee stronger than before. Very best wishes for a full recovery and thanks for a massive contribution this season.

On another point is Longport(then a long walk) the best way to Port Vale or Stoke central and then bus/taxi?

Echo all the above sentiments and wishing Michael best wishes for a full, lasting recovery and eventual return to City colours. As part of our sponsorship deal with Benenden, will they provide him with premium, post-op after-care facilities/treatment
, so as to give him the very best aid to recovery? Hope so! In the meantime, GM will have to look at the transfer window/loan market for a replacement striker because we will struggle for firepower, should any of the current forwards in the squad be injured/suspended/lo
se form. Sure he will have it covered! COYR.

What a shame as Michael was looking to be a very good asset - I know he could drift in and out of games a bit but I think this would have changed after a good run of games. His was one of the first names I looked for on the team sheet. We do seem to be having a run of bad luck with injuries. Does anyone know what the latest is with McReady and Johnson?
