Rufforth won division five and New Earswick captain Maz Broadbent led her team to the division six championship, while Appleton Roebuck seconds topped division seven.

Special awards were made to the leading player in each division, with York’s Wendy Stirke taking the top-flight accolade, while the other gongs went to York seconds’ Julia Lister (division two), Starbeck’s Beccie Jones (division three), Tollerton’s Sandra Jennings (division four), Rufforth’s Denise Reilly (division five), Copmanthorpe’s Linda Withers (division six) and Wilberfoss’ Gerry Screeton (division seven).

Meanwhile, league secretary Terry Haw is stepping down after 28 years in the role and a new appointment will be made in the next few weeks.

At the dinner, Haw was promoting his new book, a history of the league.
