Ryedale trainer ohn Quinn going Flat out for quartet of victories

Red Tyke, successfully mixing Flat racing and hurdling, can extend his winning sequence to four at a muddy Redcar this afternoon, provided the course passes a 7.30am inspection.

The John Quinn-trained gelding has proved himself a useful addition to jumping, winning novice events at Market Rasen and Kelso.

In between those victories, he sandwiched a Flat win at Hamilton Park, where he proved his effectiveness on testing ground, which he faces again today.

A handy horse, Red Tyke lines up for the Market Cross Jewellers Handicap and is fancied to hit the target again under Michael O’Connell.

Tim Easterby has treble prospects with Medici Dancer, Dream Vale and Holy Angel.

Medici Dancer (12.40) was narrowly beaten at Pontefract last week and deserves to go one better.

Dream Vale (1.10) looked a slightly unlucky loser at Catterick last time and was done no favours by a loose horse.

Holy Angel (3.40) ran well enough at Beverley last time to suggest a bold bid under Daryl Byrne over this extra furlong.

Visitors to Catterick tomorrow can look forward to a bumper eight-race card and The Tiger looks set to be on the prowl once again in the hands of Graham Lee.

The Ed Dunlop-trained gelding absolutely trotted up at Pontefract last week, winning by almost lengths without being asked a serious question.

A 6lb penalty is unlikely to halt him in the Racing UK On Sky 432 Handicap.

Ability to act on soft ground is a must at the moment and proven mud-lover Fieldgunner Kirkup should not be overlooked in the featured Weatherbys Hamilton Insurance Handicap.
