Full-strength Selby Town strive to clip rivals

With no midweek game, Selby Town will hope fresh legs can make the difference when they host Clipstone Welfare in the Northern Counties East League first division tomorrow, writes Jamie Presland.

The Robins will welcome Jammal Shahin, a former pro at Grimsby, back into a team which manager Phil Jones says is reaching full strength.

Jones said: “It’s the first time this season that everyone has been fit, available and not working. It’s a massive plus to have our strongest team ready for this match.

“Tomorrow will be a test of where we are. There won’t be too many changes from last weekend. We played well at Knaresborough and I’m confident we’ve finally turned the corner.”

Selby have won just once since August, but Clipstone come into the game off the back of two straight defeats, and the Robins will be looking to stop the rot with a third win of the season.

Knaresborough Town go into their NCEL division one match with Hemsworth Miners Welfare on the back of two straight wins.

Fifth-placed Town are aiming to follow up last weekend’s conquest of Selby which was capped by a brace of goals from free-scoring Joel Freeston.
