AFTER two poor seasons in the Egham Trophy, York IBC posted an impressive 96-71 victory over Featherstone.
At home, Dave Attwood’s team took a 19-3 lead after six ends before posting a 38-16 win, though for the visitors Craig Newton’s team tested the rink led by Dave Stroughair before a single on the last end secured a 20-17 York win.
Away, Paul Humphreys’ team pulled away from 12-11 ahead to finish 19-15, though Mark Clarke’s side spurned a 19-12 advantage with seven ends to play to lose 23-19.
York now play Ryedale, who were given their game against Hornsea, a week on Sunday.
