Monkey Puzzle, contemporary jewellery gallery, is located in the stunning Minster Quarter of York. Established in 1996 by Allison Bray, Monkey Puzzle is named after the Monkey Puzzle tree which can be traced back to the Jurassic period. Allison offers a varied range of handcrafted jewellery by carefully selected designers and makers.

Her range of stunning wedding and engagement rings are the perfect way to say all that you want to say. Those special rings can be made specifically for you, about you by Swiss company Furrer Jacot.

Allison’s selection of wonderful golden amber jewellery is complimented by more unusual green and yellow amber pieces. Traditionally set amber jewellery is displayed along side more contemporary work. Interestingly, the resin from the Monkey Puzzle tree is closely connected to both Amber and Jet.

Beautiful jewellery by local designer and maker, Robert Feather, can be selected at Monkey Puzzle. His striking work is created from a range of metals and both precious and semi precious stones.

Other distinctive jewellery incorporates stones such as vibrant chrysocolla and rich lapis lazuli. Our jewellers use materials such as aluminium which is creatively coloured and crafted into individual contemporary work.

Pieces by Leju are funky and colourful and add that something special to any outfit. Gorgeous beaded necklaces using a variety of semi precious stones are complimented by elegant contemporary sterling silver jewellery.
