The Cat Gallery in Stonegate is the UK’s biggest and best store devoted exclusively to cat themed products. Initially stocking just gifts for humans, The Cat Gallery has expanded over recent years to incorporate a range of premium products for your cat – from Applaws natural cat food through to innovative and interactive cat toys.

The Cat Gallery gift range covers a huge spectrum from art, jewellery and books through to homewares, ornaments and greeting cards. After almost nine years of trading we are THE place to come to find that special gift for a cat loving friend or family member.

The Cat Gallery was set up by husband and wife team Peter & Alison Hanson in July 2001. They gave up their jobs as accountants down South and moved North in search of a new and more exciting challenge. They also wanted to start a family and felt that running their own retail business would give them the flexibility to achieve both aims.

Nearly nine years on, they have two boys, aged 8 and 7 and a thriving retail business. They had always planned to have a mail order and online business as well. The mail order business has expanded to such an extent that it also operates from a 2,500 sq. ft. warehouse on the edge of the City Centre and fulfils over 15,000 orders per annum.

The Cat Gallery insists on stocking only good quality products (there’s a lot of cat tat around!) and always ensures that there is a good range of products to suit all pockets. You can spend under £2 on a card or a keyring, but you can also append over £100 on a top quality Ciccia leather handbag or a hand painted ornament.

The Cat Gallery known for some of the key brand names that it stocks, of which Ciccia handbags are currently the most popular. These are designed by the lady who used to design for Radley. Rosina Wachtmeister, Jellycat, Ulster Weavers and The Little Dog Laughed are some other key areas of branded merchandise.

The Cat Gallery is open seven days a week and is situated a few doors down from Mulberry Hall, opposite The Body Shop. Do call in and have a browse. If you know a cat lover, you’ll be glad you did.
