THE increasing relevance of blogs and social networking sites in the job-seeking market has been highlighted at a number of seminars at a York school.
Careers teachers from throughout North Yorkshire have been gathering at Burnholme Community College for the past month for one-day insights into the ever-increasing importance of the internet to those seeking employment.
Tim Holden, managing director of Fluid, the company responsible for the events, said: “Careers teachers constantly have to keep themselves up to date with new legislation, not to mention the ever-evolving ways of finding employment, especially now that the internet is often the first port for call for finding a new job.
“Taking the careers teachers out of their everyday work environment and putting them back in the classroom is the best way to ensure they are kept up to speed.”
