POLICE in Selby have urged the public to help find a man suspected of stealing DVDs worth hundreds of pounds from a town centre supermarket.

The incident occurred just after midday on Thursday, May 10, at Tesco, in Portholme Road, when a man and two women entered the store and took DVDs worth £300 without paying.

The suspect, described as a white man with short brown hair, then headed from Portholme Road towards the bus station.

PC Pete McCreedy, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you recognise the man suspected of this theft please contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible. I am also asking the man himself to get in touch if there has been a misunderstanding so that he can be eliminated from our inquiries.”
