Man had 200 indecent images of children
8:53am Wednesday 16th May 2012 in Selby & Tadcaster
A man has admitted possessing more than 200 indecent images of children.
Shane Lee Halliday, formerly of Hawthorn Road, Selby, appeared at York Crown Court to face 16 charges related to indecent images of children, including an offence of creating an indecent image of a girl aged between four and six, and photos and a video of a girl aged between 12 and 14.
The majority of the offences took place between February 28 and September 30, 2010, but Halliday admitted further offences which took place in August last year.
Halliday, 32, who now lives in Gordon Street, Goole, also faces a separate charge of allegedly intimidating a key witness in Selby by sending a threatening Facebook message to that person.
Halliday originally denied the charges when he appeared before the court in November last year, but pleaded guilty at York Crown Court on Monday.
Judge Guy Kearl QC released Halliday on conditional bail and will sentence him at Leeds Crown Court on June 11.
