A MOTORIST is due before court over a crash which left a seven-year-old Selby boy injured.
The 24-year-old woman was driving a silver Kia Picanto in Barlby Road at about 3.25pm yesterday, when it struck the boy.
He was taken to York Hospital with what were thought to be serious head, body and leg injuries, but a medical assessment and treatment found he had suffered only cuts and bruises.
The driver of the Kia, a local woman, went to the police station to be interviewed in connection with the collision.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said she was reported for summons for driving without due care and attention and contravening a traffic signal.
Local diversions were in place until 5.25pm while police collision investigators examined the scene.
Anyone who saw the crash, or has information about the incident should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 or email steven.James771@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
