A RUNNER is recovering in hospital after he was attacked by a dog.
The 47-year-old man was jogging along the canal path between Selby and Brayton between 6.15am and 6.30am on Monday when he was attacked by an Alsatian.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to York Hospital for urgent surgery.
The owner of the dog, who was present at the time of the incident, remained at the scene and offered the victim first aid.
