A BUILDING society branch in Selby has given a cash boost to six local charities as part of celebrations to mark a milestone anniversary.
Yorkshire Building Society, on Gowthorpe, joined branches across the country to celebrate 150 years of the Society to give away £150,000 as part of its annual Make a Difference Week.
Six charities in Selby have received a share of the anniversary donation including the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the Selby & District Food Bank, North Duffield Under 5's, Cliffe Playing Fields Association and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
