AN INDEPENDENT off-licence near Selby has been shortlisted for a national award.

The Jug And Bottle in Bubwith is a finalist for the Independent Cider Retailer of the Year at the 2015 Drinks Retailing Awards for the third time in six years.

The shop won the award in 2011 and 2012, and owner Louise Smith has also previously judged the International Cider Challenge.

She said: “We’re thrilled that we have got through again and it’s a vote of confidence for small village shops like ourselves to reach the finals.

“As an independent retailer we have really found our niche market and we have a great following. We’re continually expanding the cider range, thanks to the support of our customers.”
