A CHRISTMAS card featuring the historic Cawood Castle will be on sale at the Cawood Craft Festival over this August Bank Holiday weekend.
The card is being sold by the chairman of Selby District Council, Cllr John Cattanach, in aid of his three chosen charities – St Leonard’s Hospice, York Against Cancer and Selby District Vision.
He said: "The chairman of the council always has a number of official cards to send out at Christmas, which can be quite expensive. I wanted to make a statement about the village I live in and love, and had taken beautiful winter’s picture of the castle from my bedroom window."
The cards will go on sale at the Cawood Craft Festival this weekend, and cost £3.50 for 10, and at Cawood Post Office and Selby District Vision’s office at the Prospect Centre, Prospect Way, Selby, and they have been sponsored by Drax Power and the Ferry Inn, Cawood.
