He gave a reading of 133 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath when police tested him on March 5, York magistrates heard.

The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

Clough, of Robin Close, Selby, pleaded guilty to drink-driving in Abbey Walk, Selby.

Magistrates gave him an eightweek prison sentence suspended for 18 months as well as the threeyear driving ban.

They heard that he had gone to his GP to get help after he was stopped. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £80.
