BURGLARS stole gold rings and coins from a home in Leeds Road, Thorpe Willoughby, between 11:35am and 11.50am on Monday.
A police spokesman said the rear patio door was forced open and an untidy search was made of the home.
Jewellery was taken from a jewellery box in the bedroom including four gold rings and four, £5 commemorative coins.
Police are particularly interested in talking to a man seen walking down the drive of the house at around the time of the burglary.
He is described as a white man, aged in his late 30s, 5’9’’ tall and of slim build. He had short brown hair which was slightly greying and was wearing a dark blue or black quilted jacket and blue jeans.
