HUNDREDS of people turned out to watch the annual ploughing match near Selby.
The event took place at Henwick Hall, Burn, on Sunday (APR 6), and has been running for the last 20 years, organised by Ann and Brendan Glavin.
Ann said competitors came from around the county but also from around the country to take part in the event, which sees participants aim for a straight and even furrow.
She said: "It takes in horse ploughing and tractor ploughing, and ploughmen come from all over the country. We had one man come over from the Isle of Man with a horse to take part.
"It’s a family affair but we have a very large willing band of helpers. Over the 20 years we’ve raised more £40,000 for charities including Martin House Hospice and more recently Macmillan Nurses with profits shared equally between the two."
