HOUSING bosses will next week decide whether to draw up plans for more affordable homes as part of a facelift for Tadcaster.

Selby District Council set up a project board in March to look at “unlocking the potential” of the town, partly to include the town’s image through better use of land, “more focused” services and a “reinvigorated” cultural scene.

The authority’s executive will be asked next Thursday to agree submitting a planning application for council-owned land in St Joseph’s Street, which has been deemed surplus to requirements, to be used for up to three affordable homes.
