£1m pub to open in Selby
9:33am Friday 7th December 2012 in Selby & Tadcaster
A new £1 million J D Wetherspoon pub in Selby will open on March 26, subject to licensing approval, according to the pub chain’s website.
The Giant Bellflower will be based on the former Everatts furniture store site in Gowthorpe.
The name was chosen ahead of six other options in honour of one of the town’s most famous sons, 17th century botanist Thomas Johnson, who recorded many examples of the Giant Bellflower plant along the River Ouse.
