11:27am Wednesday 18th July 2012 in Ryedale news
RESIDENTS in North Yorkshire are being warned about a rise in bogus callers and unauthorised collections.
North Yorkshire County Council trading standards teams and licensing officers are now looking into leaflets asking for donations of clothes, shoes and other household items following a rise in the number of people logging calls about bogus clothing charity collections.
Callers can be checked by phoning the 0845 300 0218 or going to www.charity-commission.gov.uk
