Young driver events puts safety in focus

SAFER Ryedale is inviting all young drivers and potential drivers to come along to a young driver event tomorrow, 6.30pm-8.30pm at Atmosphere in Malton Road, Pickering, to spread the word about driving safely.
Mark Naylor, from North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, said engaging with younger drivers was a vital part of their ongoing work to reduce accidents.
He said: “Recently we have experienced a number of tragedies which have impacted on the families and friends of those who have lost their lives at such a young age.”
The event will also be attended by road safety officers and there will be advice, safety tips, leaflets and freebies on offer.
