MALTON is gearing up for the annual Food Lovers Festival this weekend.
A line-up of internationally-known cooks will join local chefs for the two-day event in the town’s market place.
These include Antonio Carluccio, Matthew Fort, Tom Parker Bowles, Rosemary Shrager and Andrew Pern.
Star chefs will be interviewed by Selina Scott, the festival’s first president, in the MasterClass marquee. Some stallholders will also be talking about their foodie experiences and giving demonstrations.
The Welcome to Yorkshire Tasting Trail will have dishes at 20 venues in the town.
Roads in the Market Place will be closed on both days 8.30am-5pm, along with St Michael’s Street, Finkle Street and Saville Street.
Parking is available in Wentworth Street car park for £1.50 all day on Saturday and free on Sunday. A festival shuttle bus will run from the car park to the Market Place and back every few minutes.
Online payment for festival wristbands, priced £4 for the weekend, has been extended until Friday at noon.
