Chefs brew up exclusive beer for Malton festival
7:48am Friday 4th May 2012 in Ryedale news
TWO of the region’s most distinguished chefs have helped brew an exclusive beer for the Malton Beer and Cider Festival.
Andrew Pern, from The Star Inn, Harome, and Michelin-starred chef James Mackenzie, from The Pipe and Glass Inn, South Dalton, visited the Great Yorkshire Brewery in Cropton where they selected the malt and hops for the beer.
The “Two Chefs” brew will be on sale at the festival on May 19 and 20. There will also be 40 ales from ten Yorkshire Breweries, professionally overseen by the Great Yorkshire Brewery.
Entry to the festival, which will be held inside the Milton Rooms in Malton’s Market Place, with the addition of outdoor seating, is free. The Keg Bar will be on the east side of the Market Place.
The festival, which runs alongside the Malton Food Lovers Festival, will be open on Saturday, from 10.30am to 11pm, and on Sunday, from 11am to 4pm.
