ARMED officers hunting for suspected double murderer James Allen wanted in connection with the deaths of a North Yorkshire woman and a pensioner have this morning raided a house in Middleborough.
Police cordoned off Lothian Street and ordered residents to stay inside their houses as officers stormed on the suspected home of the 35-year-old fugitive.
Allen is being hunted by police following the brutal murders of 50-year-old Julie Davison, of Whitby, and pensioner Colin Dunford, 81, of Middlesbrough.
Both were found dead in their homes with head injuries within a period of three days.
More than 100 officers are involved in the manhunt.
Members of the public are being warned not to approach Allen who has a history of violence and is known to police.
