Two arrested after drugs raid in Norton

POLICE executed a drugs warrant at a property in Norton last Wednesday.

About 10 officers along with police dogs were involved in the operation at about 3.15pm in Wood Street.

A 42-year-old woman and 56-year- old male were arrested on suspicion of possessing controlled drugs. However, the substances have yet to be forensically identified.

The male was later released with no further action, while the woman has been bailed.

Sgt Paul Stephenson, of Malton Police, said this was the second drugs warrant executed last week.

Sgt Stephenson said: “We would like to get the message across that we are clamping down on drug suppliers in the Ryedale area.

“We would also like to remind the public that they can provide informaton without leaving their details through the Crimestoppers telephone number.”
