A NEW drinks festival celebrating the magic of Yorkshire is being held in Malton later this month.

Taste The Magic of Yorkshire Beer, Wine and Gin Festival will be held at the Milton Rooms on Saturday, July 21, from 3pm to 11pm.

Organiser Howard Kinder, of Horsetown Brewery, said: “It follows on from the beer festival I did last year and this time I’ve bought it back into Malton and included Ryedale Vineyard, McMillans of Malton and Food 2 Remember.

“We will have a range of our beers, Ryedale Wines are doing a wine bar and Jim from McMillans is doing a gin bar.”

Howard said the event would also have two live bands and a 1980s disco to finish the night off.

“The Skapones are the headline band who had a UK number one in the reggae charts in January of this year,” he said.

“They’ve recently supported Madness in the House Of Fun and have been playing to sell out crowds.”

“We will also have a range of celebrity beers on offer for people to taste, including a range of beers by Madness and golden lager by singer Tony Hadley called Hadley’s Gold.”

Tickets are £6 or two for £10 and include a festival glass.
