SOMEONE has dumped waste including bags of trash, litter and what appears to be a bed by the side of the road in a Ryedale village.

This case of fly-tipping was reported to Ryedale District Council yesterday outside the village of West Lutton.

These images were shared by the authority on social media.

Its community officer has visited the site this morning to check for evidence of who may responsible for the waste.

The council is currently running a 12-month environmental awareness project called 'Don't be a Waster - Reduce, Reuse, Respect.'

This month, the theme of the project is fly-tipping.

Last week the authority revealed that fly-tipping cost local taxpayers £10,000 in the last financial year to clean up.
