RYEDALE Dog Rescue is starting the new year looking for a home for one of their rescue dogs.

Roo is a medium-sized, happy, energetic young dog, who is no more than two.

He loves playing with his toys, especially balls.

On a one-to-one basis, Roo is quick to learn and would benefit from being in a home where someone has the time to spend with him to make up for his missed “puppyhood”.

Rosie Stephenson, from the dog rescue charity, said: “When he first came into the care of Ryedale Dog Rescue, he was a little nervous around men, but with time and patience this is now a thing of the past and he is much more confident. He gets along fine with other dogs and settles well when indoors.”

This year, Ryedale Dog Rescue will celebrate its 10th anniversary and the rehoming of more than 700 dogs. Run by volunteers who receive no expenses, the charity has grown beyond recognition and has earned the support of many well-respected canine groups, including The Kennel Club. As well as regular fundraising events this year, there are a number of 10th anniversary events including a ball on Sunday, September 10, at Raithwaite Hall Country Estate.

Tickets are £50 from Mandy Clark on 07815 865767 and the evening will include reception drinks, meal, entertainment, auction and raffle. Dog shows will be held on Sunday, July 12, at Scampston Park, and on Sunday, July 26 at The Showground, Driffield.
