HALF-term may be coming to an end but there’s still plenty to do across Ryedale this weekend. 

Teddy Bear Week at North Yorkshire Moors Railway
Paddington Bear may have been abandoned at Paddington Station but this weekend youngsters who bring their teddy with them will get to ride the heritage railway for free. 
Services from Pickering to Grosmont run throughout the day and on Sunday the train will go right through to Whitby.
Day rover tickets, valid for travelling between Pickering and Goathland/Grosmont, cost £19 for adults and £16.50 for seniors.

The Beached Boys at The Milton Rooms, Malton
Presented by Ryedale Special Families the Beached Boys capture the surfing sixties sounds of the Beach Boys as they belt out classic hits including I Get Around and Help Me Rhonda.
Dave, Paul, Kevin, George and John will recreate the sounds of Brian, Mike, Carl, Al and Dennis on Saturday evening.
Doors open at 7pm and the show will start at 7.30pm. Tickets are £12.50 and for more information phone the box office on 01653 696 240.

Hearts and flowers children’s trail, Castle Howard
Wrap up warm and explore the stunning grounds of Castle Howard this weekend.
Children who find all of the hearts and flowers hidden throughout the extensive grounds will be able to collect a prize. There is also a playground and plenty of woodland paths to explore and work up an appetite before enjoying a treat in the cafe afterwards. This event ends on Sunday.

Sally Tozer exhibition, the Sun Inn, Pickering
Pickering artist Sally Tozer is the latest artist to be displaying her work in the Garden Room at the Sun Inn which has recently become an exhibition space for artists.
Sally’s work includes clays, hand modelling figuratives and other pieces including glass, metal leather and wood.
Visitors can see more of her work at her studio at Rock Cottage, New Bridge, Pickering. The exhibition is open during the pubs normal hours.

Find the Nunnington dragon, Nunnington Hall
Children can go on a quest to discover the legend of the Nunnington dragon as they follow clues around the hall to track down the dragon’s lair. There will be face painting and even some sword fighting lessons from the hall’s knights. Or why not take a tour around the hall to learn more about its history and see its true beauty.
