BURGLARS attempted to gain entry to a house in Whelham Road, Norton. North Yorkshire Police said the burglars had removed a door handle to try to gain entry, but were unable to get in, so nothing was stolen.

A spokeswoman said it was likely the suspects made some noise as they attempted to gain entry, and investigators were keen to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything out of place that day. The incident happened between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Friday, December 12.
