IF you are wondering what to do with your now-useless car tax disc holder, police have come up with an ingenious and potentially life-saving idea.
As of this month, paper tax discs will not be issued to motorists, leaving the thin plastic holder in the windscreens of vehicles around the country effectively useless.
However, North Yorkshire Police have today adopted a scheme started by West Mercia Police, which provides a cut out and keep emergency details form for motorists to place in their windscreens.
The circular form can be printed off and completed by motorists, with their own names and addresses, and those of next of kin and emergency contacts.
