A FORMER school teacher who worked at Ampleforth College has appeared in court on fresh charges of sexually assaulting two boy pupils back in the 1980's.

David Adrian Lowe, 61, now of Charlotte Street South, Bristol, who already faces trial for other alleged sex offences dating back to 1978, indicated a not guilty plea on both counts at Hammersmith Magistrates Court.

He faces two counts of indecent assault at the £30,000-a year North Yorkshire Catholic boarding school between June 1, 1981 and January 1, 1984.

He was bailed to appear at Southwark Crown Court on October 22 on condition that : he resides at his current address; does not contact prosecution witnesses; does not work with children aged under 16 years-old; and has no unsupervised contact with children.

Lowe is due to stand trial on January 12, charged with seven counts of indecent assaults on another seven boys, aged between 10 and 14 years-old between 1978 and 1984.

Those offences are also alleged to have occurred at Ampleforth College and the private Westminster Cathedral Choir School, a £15,000-a year Catholic prep school.
